Gentil coquelicot mesdames

The French Poppy is red and called "Coquelicot" as a reference to the triumphant song of the rooster. Since it grows mostly near the wheatfields, it's a very strong symbol...And light too. I love it's color and I miss it dearly, even if I fell in love with the Californian delicate orange poppy too...

This is the illustration of an ancient French song about the poppy.
Estelle, this is for you too!
