Decaf' toybag
English in black, French in lavender
Apres 4 heures quand on a quatre mois, les jouets qui font gling gling c'est comme le cafe pour les adultes, ca n'aide pas a s'endormir. On avait deja un sac a jouets pour eviter d'en mettre partout...En fait ca permet plutot d'en mettre partout justement. Facile a ranger, facile a transporter, hop dans le salon, hop dans la chambre, hop c'est range, ca traine pas c'est propre, je suis contente et Bebe Joli aussi qui aime bien fouiller dedans. Le sac en question c'est un Shinzi Katoh achete chez Superbuzzy. En ce moment Superbuzzy c'est ma boutique preferee au monde, c'est tout joli, ils livrent vite et c'est de tres bonne qualite.
Bref on avait deja un sac, mais j'en voulais bien un deuxieme. Comme ca je peux trier les jouets gling gling des pas gling gling, et sortir juste le sac a jouets tout doux quand c'est l'heure de penser a se calmer.
Je voulais un sac qui soit joli aussi s'il vous plait, avec des poches pour les petits jouets qui tombent dans le fond, des anses juste fines comme il faut pour etre attrapees par des petites mains, mais pas trop longues pour ne pas s'emmeler dedans, avec un gros bouton tres gros pour ne pas l'avaler ni meme pouvoir le mettre dans la bouche, et des tissus bien graphiques et jolis pour plaire a Bebe qui a deja ses gouts a lui. Bref un sac comme ca ca n'existe pas, alors je l'ai fait.
Normalement ca me prend 4 heures mais la, haha avec un bebe ca prends deux semaines a raison de 5 a 15mn par jours. C'est pas grave je suis tres tetue.
Bebe l'aime plus que l'autre, nananere. Il l'aime tellement qu'il passe son temps a jouer avec le sac et moins avec ce qu'il y a dedans. 0_o
I found out it was better for my four months old to forget about exciting toys after 4pm. It's a bit like coffee, if you take some in the late afternoon you won't be able to sleep and the next day is a bad and cranky one. I divided the toys in 2 categories, the Caf' and the Decaf' ones. We already had a super cute bag from Shinzi Katoh I bought in one of my favourite shops online, Superbuzzy. It became the Caf' bag. For the Decaf' bag I wanted something pretty, with pockets for
the small toys, friendly handles for tiny hands (not too large to be grabbed, not too long to prevent stragulation), with a big oh so big button (so he won't choke on it) , made of
graphic and pretty fabrics, choosen to match the particular taste of Beebe Joli .
A bag like that doesn't exists so I did it. Usually I would spend 4 hours doing this but with my baby schedule it actually took me 2 weeks, working from 5 to 15 minutes a day. It's OK , I'm quite stubborn.
Now Beebe Joli has a new bag and he likes it so much he plays with it more than with the toys. I guess I can call that a success!
Fabrics come from :
Britex in SF for the black one with tiny squares, but I find Britex quite expensive, a bit like Reine in Montmartre. They have a fair choice of classic fabrics and notions, though.
The canvas comes from Darlene's
fabrics in the Mission, one of my favourite shops really. The owner
is a sweetheart, it's full of treasures and it's not expensive at
all. I'm having as much fun as I had going to "Les tissus Laik" rue de
Steinkerque in Paris.
I bought a bias maker from Superbuzzy to make nice and clean handles, I really like the result.
I can't remember if I bought the "bugs" fabric from Superbuzzy or Fabric Tales in Japan. If you want to buy from France, maybe ordering from Kitty Craft
would be less expensive, but I never bought from them so I can't
guarantee anything about the way they handle things. Both Superbuzzy
and fabric Tales were very quick to send me my goodies in pretty
parcels, wich I really appreciated.
