Temporary wall stickers (unexpected advent #21)

I shouldn't say "temporary" because I made some stickers like these for my bedroom a few years ago, and I was able to take them off the wall and move them here in our new house, and they are still going strong.

So. Today I took a look at our holiday deco, and I was like " There's something missing". Big birds! I wanted some big birds on the wall flying with evergreen leaves. So I did this:

The main problem was that I envisioned a drawing that would fit in no less than 3 sheets of printer paper. So I painfully calculated the sizes of the images to  fit exactly the printed pages , without my printer resizing them randomly for printing. I divided each drawing into 3 pages, cut them out and glued them together before applying on the wall with this glue: Scotch Restickable Glue Stick. I'm not sponsored, it's just the best product out there for that kind of DIY project, and I really like it for the price. If you live in a more humid weather that I do, it might not do the trick, but here in LA it does wonders.

J'ai eu une brusque envie d'une grand frise d'oiseaux volants au dessus de ma déco de Noël. J'ai noté que quand on en fait beaucoup au sol, et au niveau des meubles dans une pièce, ça parait toujours très lourd, et comme je ne suis pas du genre à alléger...mais plutot à en rajouter...Il me fallait des oiseaux haut près du plafond! 

Le gros problème, c'est l'imprimante. Je ne connais pas d'instrument plus frustrant à utiliser qu'une imprimante. Je trouve plus facile d'utiliser mon Mac sous Linux que de réussir à imprimer quoique ce soit correctement sur ces machines. Donc j'ai passé un temps ridicule à trouver comment calculer une taille d'image qui ne serait pas changée au hasard par la machine, et comment la forcer à imprimer un dessin par petit bouts  (jusque là c'est possible) de manière efficace (ça ne l'est plus). Donc j'ai patiemment tout découpé et calé sur Photoshop, et imprimé en croisant les doigts, en m'attendant à une grosse deception...Qui n'est pas venue. J'ai tout découpé et collé  ( avec cette colle là : Scotch Restickable Glue Stick) , et je suis assez ravie du résultat!  Je me demande si je ne vais pas aussi attaquer les rares coins vides de l'atelier avec cette technique.
